Man arrested for allegedly stealing a car

A 37-year-old man wanted by the Meyerton SAPS for vehicle theft was found in a motel in Primrose.

Responding to a report from the Meyerton SAPS the Primrose police recently began a search for a 37-year-old alleged car thief.

During their search officers received a tip-off from a community member that the suspect had checked into a motel in Barbara Road.

“Police followed the information and the suspect was traced and arrested at the motel.

“He was detained at the Primrose Police Station before being handed over to the Meyerton SAPS where he will face charges of vehicle theft,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The Primrose police station commander Lieut-Col Albertina Ves thanked the community for their help in tracing the accused.

“Primrose is not a hiding spot for criminals,” she said.
