Katlehong police nab 14 suspects

Two suspects arrested were by the Gauteng Flying Squad during their patrols in Katlehong.

Katlehong South police arrested 14 suspects for various crimes.

Suspects were arrested during the daily stop-and-search operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit.

The suspects were arrested for the following crimes: theft, assault with the intention to inflict grievous bodily harm, and for being in possession of dagga and other drugs.

“These arrests include the two suspects aged 24 and 25 who were arrested by the Gauteng Flying Squad,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

“Members of the Gauteng Flying Squad were on their patrols in Spruitview, in Katlehong, when they spotted a suspicious-looking Toyota Hi-Lux.

“Police approached the vehicle and found a driver and passenger.

“It was discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Vanderbijlpark, earlier last month.”

The two suspects were arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle and were detained at the Katlehong Police Station.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
