Woman charged with perjury
A woman was arrested after she allegedly lied to police while opening a rape case.
The Katlehong police recently arrested a woman (38) and charged her with perjury, after discovering she had lied while opening a rape case.
“The accused opened a rape case with the Katlehong SAPS on behalf of her daughter.
“She claimed that the child had been raped by her biological father in the Khumalo Section,” explained Capt Mega Nodobe, communications officer for the Katlehong SAPS.
Her husband was arrested for the crime and spent three months in prison, until the police’s investigation cleared him of all wrong doing.
“A case of perjury was opened against the mother of the child and she was arrested,” said Ndobe.
The suspect will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court soon.
