Hoërskool Elsburg recently held their annual Mr and Miss Elsie event.

The audience was taken on a trip around the world with the 24 gorgeous finalists.

They were introduced to the crowd by coming on stage carrying different flags of the world.

The judges, Sylvia and Michael Dash from Figures Models and Talent International in Bedfordview and Mandy Green (internal judge), had their work cut out for them.

“It was a great night and we enjoyed it so much.

“We can’t wait for next year,” Sylvia said.

The finalists had to show off on stage wearing both informal and formal wear and what a tough decision it was for the judges to make.

The contestant who sold the most tickets was Sibusiso Mpokela.

His personality and business sense made sure that the school hall was filled with supporters.

The People’s Choice award was taken by Lisa-Ann Smith who received the most votes from the pupils and the public on Hoërskool Elsburg’s Facebook page.

Mr and Miss Personality, Zunaid Blom and Nthabiseng Masango, made a good impression on and off stage and charmed everyone with their sparkling personalities.

Eugene Barnard and Elsa du Preez won the title of Mr and Miss Photogenic for working it in front of the camera lens.

All the contestants, dressed in suits and beautiful evening gowns were waiting in anticipation for the top positions to be called out.

Elecxious Kgotego and Nikitta Klein were crowned as the second prince and princess, while first prince and princess crowns went to Tyrelle Barclay and Chenilyn Chatfield, respectively.

It was then time to announce the winners for 2016.

Mr and Miss Elsie 2016 are Enrico Meyer and Lerice Lyle.

The winners received goodie bags filled with amazing prizes and a voucher worth R1 600 from Figures Models and Talent International.

The school congratulated all the winners and a big thank you goes to the organisers and everyone who participated.
