Time running out to donate to the GCN’s collection project

Do your bit to help the needy this winter.

You only have until June 30 to donate something to the GCN’s winter collection project.

With the cold weather sweeping in, the GCN handed over the items collected so far to Germiston Child Welfare, on Wednesday, so people in need could have some warm clothes and blankets.

Many of the items were donated thanks to Dinky Dolly Nursery School’s lantern walk and the GCN thanks the school and the Elsburg community for their generosity.

The GCN handed over a large amount of clothes collected for Germiston Child Welfare to help the less fortunate this winter, on Wednesday. Showing off the collection are, Martha Mayisela (Germiston Child Welfare, left), Leigh Hodgson (GCN senior journalist), Marie de Lange (Germiston Child Welfare financial manager) and Puleng Sekabate (GCN journalist).

The public is urged to donate clothes, blankets and non-perishable food which will be handed over to Germiston Child Welfare to assist those who have nothing.

The public can drop off donations at the GCN’s offices, at the corner of Main Road and Scorpia Street, in Fishers’ Hill or contact us for collection.

All donations, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated.
