Caxton journalists join metro on sightseeing tour of Ekurhuleni

Caxton Local newspapers journalists recently went on a guided tour of some of Ekurhuleni’s famous landmarks and popular places.

The sightseeing tour named ‘Instameet’ was organised by Caxton local newspapers with the Ekurhuleni Metro.

A bus took the pack of Caxton journalists and their counterparts from other publications to some of the city’s different towns and townships, including Kempton Park, Boksburg, Tsakane, Wattville and Actonville (Benoni).

The bus made its first stop at the Ekurhuleni Business Facilitation Network Centre in Kempton Park, where Dumisani Hlatshwayo (regional manager) briefly explained how it helps people with entrepreneurial spirit.

The bus then proceeded to Boksburg and the main sites visited during the entertaining all-day tour included late SACP leader Chris Hani’s home in Dawn Park and his grave, which was recently declared a national heritage site by President Jacob Zuma.

Thenceforth the bus headed to Oliver Tambo’s grave and Cultural Precinct in Wattville and Actonville, before travelling to Tsakane, where it whizzed through the township’s popular sites including the Tsakani clinic and to a restaurant called Bahamas. -@FanieFLK
