Equipment fault leads to outage

Several Germiston areas were left without power once again this morning.

The affected areas include:

•  Tedstoneville;
•  Parkhill Gardens;
•  Delville;
•  Elsburg;
•  Germiston Central.

The GCN contacted the metro to find out what has caused this outage and when power would be restored.

“An equipment fault at the main Elsburg substation was the cause of the outage,” said metro spokesman Themba Gadebe.

“Ekurhuleni technicians are currently on site carrying out repair works and power is expected to be fully restored by midnight.”

The metro apologised to the community for the inconvenience.
