Man beats woman for taking a nap

A man was arrested by the Primrose police after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 27-year-old man from the Makause informal settlement.

He was charged with domestic violence after his girlfriend opened a case against him.

“The woman claimed she was woken from her afternoon nap when her boyfriend started hitting her with an open hand,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

It is alleged that the accused knew that the victim was pregnant but continued to hit her all over her body.

The police followed several leads and the suspect was traced and arrested.

He was detained at the Primrose Police Station and has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
