Help local organisations by supporting Tekkie Tax Day

Help Germiston Child Welfare raise funds by supporting National Tekkie Tax Day.

Child Welfare Germiston is again part of the National Tekkie Tax Day campaign.

The day takes place on May 27, this year.

It is so easy to get involved – all you need to do is buy a sticker or glam up your takkies with some funky, ethnic shoelaces.

The Tekkie Tax Day campaign was established in 2013, when a large number of welfare organisations joined forces to secure a fund-raising initiative which benefits more than 1 000 welfare organisations in South Africa, servicing different causes and different sectors.

Child Welfare Germiston as a beneficiary is once again excited to participate, as the campaign has been growing from strength to strength annually and, last year, more than R6-million was raised.

In 2015, Child Welfare Germiston was awarded a certificate for being the runner-up in the child welfare group, for selling the second highest number of stickers.

“This year our aim is to be the number one child welfare organisation in the country – selling the most stickers,” said Barbara Bouwer, Germiston Child Welfare director.

“We can achieve this only with the community’s support.

“So come on, get your department together, have some fun, dress up and send us photos of your Tekkie Tax Day, get your child’s school involved, your friends, your family, and send us your photos.”

Stickers cost R10 and the shoelaces R35, which includes a sticker of your choice.

Adult T-shirts are R90 and children’s T-shirts are R70.

You can support either animals, bring hope, children, people with disabilities or education.

To join in the fun and support the sector where your heart lies, contact Barbara on 082 804 8376, or email to info@childwelfaregermiston.org.za and the organisation will send you order forms, posters and pamphlets.
