Woman stabbed while fetching child

A woman was recently stabbed twice in the upper body while fetching her child from the Marathon informal settlement.

A woman narrowly escaped a vicious attack by her ex-boyfriend’s 20-year-old girlfriend, recently.

The woman allegedly stabbed her twice in the upper body when she went to fetch her child from its father’s home, in the Marathon informal settlement.

“The victim explained that when she knocked on her ex-boyfriend’s door she was met by his girlfriend.

“Without a word the accused stabbed her with a sharp object,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

A community member who witnessed the crime called an ambulance and the victim was rushed to hospital.

The woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder. She will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
