Brothers arrested for housebreaking

Two men were arrested for a housebreaking at the Victoria Court flats in Fishers’ Hill.

Two brothers, aged 29 and 37, were recently arrested by the Primrose police and charged with housebreaking and theft.

The arrest was made after a woman from Fishers’ Hill opened a case of theft at the Primrose Police Station.

“She explained that she went to bed and forgot to close the dining room window of her Victoria Court flat.

“When she woke up in the morning she discovered that her TV was missing and that the door had been forced open from the inside,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Detectives from the station followed several the leads that led them to a woman who had reportedly bought the TV from the brothers.

“The woman told detectives that the brothers had given her the TV after she had lent them money,” said Maome.

The woman took detectives to the brothers’ home, where they were arrested.

The men will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
