The Primrose police arrested 19 suspects between April 4 to 10.
This is according to the station’s latest arrest statistics.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes in the Primrose area, including:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 4
- Common assault: 1
- Possession of drugs: 1
- Shoplifting: 3
- Warrant of arrest: 1
- Contempt of court: 1
- Housebreaking and theft: 1
- Driving under the influence: 2
- Fraud: 2
- Theft: 1
- Possession of suspected stolen property: 1
- Illegal immigrants: 1
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
