Operation Basadi hits the streets

Female officers from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations made their presence felt on the streets of Germiston with Operation Basadi.

The Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations’ Operation Basadi hit the streets last Friday.

The operation, led by Col Veeshani Arikum, saw 46 female officers conducting several operations.

These included a stop-and-search at the Golden Walk Shopping Centre in the Germiston CBD and a vehicle stop-and-search in Linton Jones Street, where more than 50 vehicles were searched.

The day’s operations ended with officers distributing safety pamphlets throughout the cluster.

“We plan to hold more operations under the Operation Basadi banner in the coming weeks,” said Sgt Olga Masethla, from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster.
