Prevent crime in your area

The Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk is urging the community to get involved in crime prevention in the area.

Chantell Bergman, Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk secretary, is appealing to the community of Primrose to help prevent crime in the area.

“We encourage people between the ages of 15 and 35 to come and join the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk which operates from Primrose police station,” she said.

Weekly meetings are held every Monday at the Primrose Methodist Church, in Primula Road, from 5.30pm.

“At the meetings we decide how we can best help the police fight crime in our area.

“Many young community members are unable to find work and, therefore, resort to crime. We offer an alternative,” Bergman said.

For more information call Sgt Styles Maome, Primrose police social crime prevention co-ordinator, on 079 694 6447 or 011 842-0500.
