Operations yield results

The Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations arrested 93 suspects during several operations held in the cluster area.

Officers from the Ekurhuleni West Cluster police stations, together with officers from the EMPD, arrested 93 suspects between March 28 to April 3.

During several operations held throughout the cluster, suspects were arrested on various charges including; possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen property, manufacturing drugs, theft, domestic violence, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, reckless and negligent driving, fraud, pointing of a firearm, murder, armed robbery, theft out of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of counterfeit money.

“The officers involved were commended for their hard work and contribution to these arrests.

“Members of the SAPS are encouraged to double their efforts and make our cluster the safest place in the province,” said Sgt Styles Maome, on behalf of the cluster.

Most suspects have already appeared in the Germiston and Alberton Magistrates Courts, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Some will appear in court again soon.
