Man linked to several housebreakings
Police find man with stolen laptop in housebreaking hotspot.
A 20-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police.
The man, who has been charged with the possession of stolen property, was arrested during a routine patrol in May Street, in Symhurst.
“The area is a known housebreaking hotspot so officers immediately stopped the man when they saw him carrying a laptop,” said Sgt Styles Maome.
During questioning the accused was unable to explain from where he had obtained the laptop or where he was taking it.
He was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.
“The suspect later took police to an address in May Street, from where he admitted to having stolen the laptop,” Maome said.
“He has also been linked to other housebreakings in the area.”
He will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
