The Primrose police’s Housebreaking Task Team recently arrested a 19-year-old man for the possession of stolen property.
The arrest was made after officers received a tip-off about a man selling a bicycle taken during a Gerdview housebreaking.
“Officers travelled to the Makause informal settlement address given and found the accused,” said the communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
The man was questioned and later agreed to take officers to where he had hidden some of the stolen goods.
“Two batteries, a charger, drill bits and a drilling machine, as well as the bicycle, were seized by police,” said Maome.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.
“We are humbly appealing to our community to refrain from buying anything that they suspect may be stolen,” Maome said.
The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
