New clinic for women

The Bertha Gxowa Hospital recently opened a new gynaecology out-patient department (GOPD).

The Bertha Gxowa Hospital has announced the addition of a new gynaecology out-patient department (GOPD).

The GOPD was recently opened and was warmly welcomed by patients.

The department is aimed at providing specialised care for women, with special focus on women’s health.

Obstetrician gynaecologist, Dr Nonhlanhla Sikakane, recently joined the hospital to head the project and is excited to get the clinic up and running.

“The aim of this GOPD is to empower women and improve the quality of life for them and future generations,” she said.

“The department offers relief to patients who would previously have been referred to other hospitals for further management of their conditions, although this was their closest hospital.”

The GOPD will be open every Tuesday and Friday from 8am to 1pm.

Appointments are strictly on a booking basis, for more information contact the Women’s Clinic on 011 089-5520.
