After a young woman’s hellish kidnapping ordeal, the Primrose police, together with members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit have arrested a 29-year-old man.
The man is accused of assisting in the kidnapping of the young woman from Primrose, as well as raping her.
“The victim told police that she had gone to a local store in Rietfontein Road to buy airtime,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“It was there she met the accused who complained that she had not greeted him.”
The accused allegedly grabbed her, covered her mouth and dragged her to a nearby vehicle.
“The victim claims that there were three other men in the vehicle,” said Maome.
“They drove her to a block of flats where they drugged her, when she woke up she was alone and naked.”
The victim told the police how she was raped by several more men in several different locations over a series of days.
“On March 3 the victim claims her captives took her to Daveyton where they left her,” said Maome.
Using the description by the victim, police were able to trace and arrest the man who forced her into the vehicle in Rietfontein Road.
He was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
