The Primrose police recently arrested 26 suspects between March 7 to 13.
The accused were arrested in the Primrose area on various charges, including:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 4
- Common assault: 2
- Possession of drugs: 3
- Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1
- Shoplifting: 1
- Resisting arrest: 1
- Warrant of arrest: 1
- Malicious damage to property: 1
- Theft: 2
- Illegal immigrants: 10
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
