Officers from the EMPD recently conducted a special speed law enforcement operation on the N3 highway.
The Germiston-leg of the operation took place between 5am and 9am on N3 highway northbound, near the M2 split within the Geldenhuys Interchange.
Eight speedsters were arrested when caught doing speeds of between 201km/h and 142km/h in a 120km/h zone.
The eight arrested drivers were charged at the Germiston Police Station with reckless and negligent driving.
They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
They were all allowed to go home after posting bail of R1 000 each.
