Local author sends message to the world

Crywagen Park resident self-publishes books.

Hidden codes, the internet, meta-narrative and symbology are some of the things which describe local author Clinton Petersen’s books.

The Crywagen Park resident has always wanted to be a writer and, with this in mind, recently self-published two books which come as a unit, entitled Hello World and Skooled.

The books are aimed at the younger generation and lead the reader to discover hidden chapters online.

So far he has sold 500 copies of his books and has received mixed reviews regarding it.

“The books contain a hidden code which lead you to a website where you can read all the chapters,” Clinton said.

“Each published book is slightly different, so each copy will appeal differently to people.”

The books, which come together, are entitled Hello World and Skooled and are aimed at the younger generation.

Skooled tells the stories of people’s lives and focuses on what children are going through at school, while Clinton said Hello World is his way of sending a postcard to the world.

“It is becoming such a digital world and no one reads anymore so this is my way of encouraging reading,” he said.

On the internet the books are accompanied by videos and they are continually evolving.

Clinton also writes scripts and at the moment he is working on a movie script taken from one of the chapters of his book.

Clinton is a self-employed, doing IT work and said technology is his hobby and passion.

People are welcome to email him at clinton@mzansisa.co.za to find out more about his books.
