Twenty-five suspects were arrested in Primrose according to the Primrose police.
The accused were arrested for various crimes from February 29 to March 7.
Charges included:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 8
- Possession of drugs: 7
- Dealing in liquor without a license: 1
- Shoplifting: 1
- Theft: 2
- Attempted murder: 1
- Murder: 1
- Rape: 1
- Reckless and negligent driving: 1
- Use of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent: 1
- Illegal immigrants: 1
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
