Residents of the Makause informal settlement converged on the Germiston Civic Centre in a service delivery protest, recently.
The marchers planned to hand over a memorandum regarding the lack of housing and service delivery faced by residents.
According to Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, more than 10 000 residents were involved in the protest.
