Child hurt in fire

The Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services responded to a house fire in Rigel Street.

Two rooms of a house in Rigel Street, in Primrose, went up in flames, last Tuesday.

This is according to Pieter Rudolph, Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services senior district manager of emergency planning.

“Two of the 10 rooms in the house were damaged by the fire,” he said.

“Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services responded to the scene.”

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to other areas of the house.

“A four-year-old boy was injured in the fire and taken to hospital,” Rudolph said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
