Germiston SAPS visit local school

Brig Samuel Thambo launches the Adopt-A-Cop Project at the Institute Status Acres Secondary School.

Members from the Germiston Police Station recently visited the Institute Status Acres Secondary School, in Germiston, as part of their back to school campaign.

Before Germiston SAPS station commander Brig Samuel Thambo honoured three of the school’s 2015 matrics and spoke to the children about discipline, the Rev WO Jabulani Motsai opened the visit with a prayer.

Thambo then handed gift packs to Ruvarashe Makandire, Yolanda Guilambe and Tshegofatso Tladi and congratulated them on their distinctions.

Before leaving the school, Thambo launched the Adopt-A-Cop Project and introduced Const Queen Sibeko to the pupils.

Sibeko will be working hand-in-hand with the school on several projects, including anti-bullying and anti-substance abuse campaigns.
