The metro will not change its refuse removal schedule this year, following the adoption of a fixed calendar system.
It is, therefore, the responsibility of each household to familiarise themselves with the refuse removal schedule in order to know on which day refuse is due to be collected.
Residents will be receiving colour-coded refuse removal calendars which reflect the collection days for the 52 weeks of the year.
Furthermore, waste collection services will be provided on all public holidays, except December 25, and this will result in a consistent service all year around.
The calendars will also be available in due course on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za.
Residents are urged to ensure that their bins (not plastic bags) are on the pavements as early as 7am on the collection day.
