Today the South African Weather Service released warnings of:
- Severe Thunderstorms
Severe thunderstorms in parts of the province from 12pm to 11pm, these storms could include large hail and damaging winds.
- Veld Fire Conditions
The warning is focused on, but not limited to, the extreme south-western parts of Gauteng.
- Extreme Heat
Extremely hot conditions are expected over parts of Gauteng.
- High discomfort values
Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions.
Community members are urged to take the necessary precautions.
When travelling by car in wet weather remember to reduce your speed, keep your lights on and increase and maintain a safe following distance.
Vehicles and animals should also have appropriate shelter during this time.
