Metro finds no leak

Metro carried out an inspection in Dimitri Road to determine the cause of a reported water leak.

The GCN recently received a call from a local company, located in Dimitri Road in Germiston.

The company has been left desperate for a solution over the state of the road outside their premises.

The staff member who spoke to a GCN journalist explained that the road is in such a terrible condition due to a water leak, that was reported to the metro last year.

The trucks travelling along the road struggle to get in-and-out of companies and are also being damaged as the leak has resulted in two large potholes in the road.

The GCN contacted the metro to enquire if they were aware of the problem and what is being done to repair this road and leak.

Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro, responded with the following statement:

“An inspection was carried out on Dimitri Road. Ekurhuleni technicians found a water meter lying on its side with no signs of a water leak.

“The reinstatement work of the water meter will commence next week,” he said.
