Police hand out safety tips

The Germiston SAPS conducted a door-to-door campaign to educate the community about housebreakings and theft.

There has been a rise in housebreaking and theft cases in the Delville area, according to the Germiston SAPS.

To this end, Germiston police members recently held a door-to-door campaign in which they distributed pamphlets to residents of Sector Three (Delville area).

The community was sensitised about safety in and around the home and urged to report any crimes to the police.

They were also asked to come forward with suggestions as to how to combat this situation in their area.

The Germiston SAPS station commander, Brig Samuel Thambo, added that if anyone in the community knows of any criminal activities in their area they should report them to the sector commander, WO Daniel Mokoena, on 071 675 7999.

The SAPS members involved in the campaign were Const Emmanuel Mngadi, WO Godfrey Sehlangu, WO Daniel Mokoena, Col Samson Matlala, Const James Maphari and Const Queen Sibeko.
