A 22-year-old woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a train at the Lindela train station in Katlehong, on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at about 7am.
“The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment,” said Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene and managed to stabilise the critically injured woman.
“After stabilising her, the Netcare1 emergency helicopter, which responds to life–threatening emergencies, was dispatched to the scene to airlift the critically injured woman to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” said Mathe.
