Station commander addresses problems at charge office

We need to serve the community not to frustrate them – say police.

Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, the station commander of the Primrose Police Station, has been fielding complaints from disgruntled community members.

The main complaint from many residents is that they are sent from one person to the next when they try to open a case.

“Residents have reported that when reporting a crime at the Primrose Police Station’s charge office, they have been given the sector cellphone numbers instead of being able to open a case,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“It is the responsibility of the officers on duty to help even if that means finding or phoning a third party.”

Members of the community are encouraged to take the name of the officer helping them.

“This will help when reporting any problems community members may have when reporting a crime,” Maome added.

“We need to serve the community not to frustrate them.”

A reminder of the Primrose police’s contact numbers:

  •  Sector vehicles: 071 675 6864/5/6/7/8/9.
  •  Charge office: 011 842-0522.
