A 29-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police and charged with the theft of a motor vehicle.
The arrest was made after a man reported that his vehicle had been stolen from Randleigh Road, in Primrose.
The complainant alleged that he had parked his vehicle on the pavement and when he returned to the vehicle, about five minutes after parking it, the vehicle was gone.
Police followed several leads and were able to make an arrest within two days of the crime.
“We are appealing to our community to refrain from parking their vehicles on the pavements, almost all vehicles which are stolen in Primrose are taken from the pavements outside yards,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
The accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
