Often when we think of someone who has been diagnosed with a dread disease, like leukaemia, we only focus on that one person; how he or she must feel and his or her strength and courage to fight this dread disease.

All too often this person’s family, friends and colleagues are not included in our thoughts. However, they, too, will be traumatised, frightened and their lives will also be greatly affected and forever changed.

When we look at the circle of people who will be touched, this changes our entire perspective.
