Former Lambton resident Rev Gary Rivas, one of the founding ministers of Gracepoint Church, was inducted as the bishop of the Central District of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa.

A male radio presenter for a North West radio station was among the seven speedsters arrested recently on the Albertina Sisulu (R21) highway, near the R562 bridge, in the Olifantsfontein area. Two of the arrested drivers were caught doing 227 and 206km/h in a 120km/h zone.

Two young women in their teens and a seven-month-old baby boy were murdered in Katlehong recently. They were declared dead on scene by paramedics.

The metro is lifting the water restrictions which were executed last month to curb the water shortages experienced throughout the province. Cooperation by residents and business consumers, as well as the advent of seasonal rainfall which has cooled temperatures, have ensured that reservoirs remained stable over the past weeks.
