Possible fires and thunderstorms on the cards
Take necessary precautions in extreme weather conditions.
As dark clouds move over parts of the province the South African Weather Service has released a warning of severe thunderstorms as well as potential veld fires.
- Severe Thunderstorms:
Severe thunderstorm with possible large hail and damaging winds have been predicted with special focus over the extreme south parts of Gauteng
- Veld fires:
A veld fire warning has been issued for Gauteng’s surrounding provinces, this does not mean that veld fires are not a possibility in the province.
The warnings have come after a long period of hot and dry weather.
Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
