Men to appear in court for triple murder

Two men charged with the murder of two women and a baby will appear in court next week (December 22).

Katlehong police confirmed this morning that the suspects arrested on Thursday for the murder of two women and a seven-month-old baby, in Silumaview section, Katlehong, have been released from hospital.

The two were taken to hospital after the community of Silumaview exacted mob justice in the wake of the murders.

“One of the suspects will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court today, under the guardianship of his parents, as it was discovered he is only 17-years-old,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong SAPS.

“He will then be placed in a place of safety.

“The case will be postponed to December 22, where both suspects will appear in court.”

The 23-year-old suspect will be taken to the Boksburg Prison today pending his appearance in court.

Capt Ndobe confirmed that the two men were in fact related to the victims.

“The motive behind the killings is still unknown, the Katlehong police continue to investigate,” he said.
