Stop-and-search yields results

During a Katlehong SAPS cluster stations operation, 65 suspects were arrested.

Twenty-seven of these people were arrested in Katlehong and Katlehong North.

The stop-and-search operation took place on November 27, 28 and 29 and saw SAPS officers from the Vosloorus, Zonkizizwe,Thokoza, Dawn Park, Katlehong and Katlehong North police stations working together with the EMPD .

•  Katlehong police arrested 22 suspects on charges of common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, shoplifting, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of dagga and nyaope and drinking in public.
•  Katlehong North police arrested five suspects for common assault, driving under the influence of alcohol and warrant of arrest.

All the arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court soon.
