A man in his 60s sustained moderate injuries this morning after a helicopter crashed in a field off Kliprivier Road in Alberton, this morning.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find the helicopter in the middle of the field.
“Two occupants were found seated next to the helicopter,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesman.
On assessment, paramedics found that one man had sustained moderate injuries in the incident.
The second occupant, a man, fortunately escaped without injuries.
Paramedics treated the patient before he was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a private hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the incident is unknown but local authorities were on scene to investigate.
