Man damages gate and garage door

A Gerdview landlord recently opened a case of malicious damage to property against a 23-year-old man.

A 23-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police after he allegedly damaged the gate and garage door of a Bassea Road property.

The incident was reported to police by the property’s landlord.

“The complainant alleged that he was sleeping when he received a call from his tenant.

“The tenant explained that the accused was damaging his property,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for he Primrose police.

On arrival at the property, the landlord found that the gate and the garage door had been broken.

“The tenant was able to identify the man who had caused the damage,” Maome said.

A case was opened against the man and he was later arrested.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon on charges of malicious damage to property.
