A woman and her children were left traumatised after a robbery at their Hazeldene home, recently. Pine Pienaar, the vice-chairman for the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF, told the GCN that the robbery took place in Edwardian Street at about 6.55pm.

The young pit bull puppy Athena was hit so hard with an iron pole that her left eye burst open and she died a gruesome death. But what made the death even more horrifying was that the senseless beating of Athena took place in front of children, aged 13, 12, 11, five and four.

After a recent drunken night out, a 28-year-old mother brought her 18-month-old baby to the Primrose Police Station. “The mother told officers that her child’s father was causing problems for her and that she did not want the child anymore,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
