Child Welfare’s training room gets a revamp

MultiChoice making a difference for Child Welfare.

The training room at the Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare was given a much needed face-lift on Thursday.

A team from the installation support at Multichoice visited the NGO to paint and renovate the room, as part of the company’s Multi Choice Making a Difference (MMAD) initiative.

Director of Germiston Child Welfare Barbara Bouwer explained how the team got involved with the organisation.

“Everything started last year, when Value Logistics began to revamp our training room,” she said.

“From there we responded to a call by Henley Business School to NGOs to apply to have an advanced management student come and help the NGO.

“This was a wonderful opportunity for both student and NGO.

“Through this I met Tammy Lemekoane, from Multichoice, and she and her department nominated Germiston Child Welfare in the MMAD project.”

In addition to the much-needed manpower needed for the revamp, Multichoice donated R20 000 for paint, plants and a multi-purpose TV, all of which will help Child Welfare to serve the community.

“We nominated Child Welfare because we believe in the work they do for the community,” said Tammy on behalf of her team, who arrived eager to get their hands dirty for a good cause.
