From October 19 to 25, the Primrose police arrested 55 suspects.
The arrests were made in Primrose and surrounding areas.
Crimes included:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 7
- Common assault: 4
- Possession of drugs: 7
- Dealing in drugs: 1
- Child neglect: 1
- Reckless and negligent driving: 1
- Possession of stolen property: 4
- Illegal brothel: 10
- Business robbery: 2
- Intimidation: 2
- Shoplifting: 2
- Pointing of a firearm: 1
- Theft: 6
- Illegal immigrants: 7
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
