Woman, children hide from house robbers

House robbers break down door, make off with goods.

A woman and her children were left traumatised after a robbery at their Hazeldene home, on Friday.

Pine Pienaar, the vice-chairman for the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF, told the GCN that the robbery took place in Edwardian Street at about 6.55pm.

“Three suspects, one positively armed, drove up to the house in a white VW Polo hatchback,” he said.

“The owner of the house spotted the suspects taking the property’s gate off its rails.

“The criminals saw her and rushed at her brandishing the firearm.

“She managed to get her children and herself safely into the bedroom where they hid.”

Pienaar added that the men kicked the front door open and then helped themselves to two televisions and a laptop before fleeing the scene.

Members of the CPF, the Germiston SAPS, a local security company and trauma councillors attended the scene.
