Twenty arrested in a week

Primrose police nab 20 suspects in a week.

The Primrose police have issued their latest arrest statistics.

Twenty suspects were arrested in the Primrose area between October 5 and 11.

Suspects were arrested for the following:

  •  Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 5
  •  Common assault: 1
  •  Possession of drugs: 4
  •  Dealing in drugs: 3
  •  Child neglect: 1
  •  Reckless and negligent driving: 1
  •  Possession of stolen property: 1
  •  Theft of a motor vehicle: 1
  •  Illegal immigrants: 3

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
