Man linked to two additional crimes following arrest

Man found with drugs in Primrose.

While members of the Germiston Flying Squad were on a recent patrol in Oak Avenue, Primrose East, they arrested a man for drug possession.

The 38-year-old was apprehended when officers noticed him acting suspiciously and stopped to search him.

During the search they found a plastic packet containing a white substance, believed to be drugs, in the man’s possession.

“The man was brought to the Primrose Police Station, where he was formally charged,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“During processing it was discovered that the accused is wanted for two additional charges.

“The first is a charge of drug possession with the Cape Town Central SAPS.

“The second is a charge of theft with the Rustenburg SAPS,” said Maome.

The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was postponed for plea and trial.

“Once this process has been finalised the suspect will be handed over to the other two police stations to face further charges,” Maome said.
