Phumla Sekhonyane, the chief director at the Gauteng Eductaion Department has confirmed that an incident of vandalism was reported at Germiston High School today (Friday).
“It is alleged that the vandalism was committed by a group of students belong to COSAS,” she said.
“We are extremely disturbed by these reports and the MEC Panyaza Lesufi has summoned the members of COSAS to a meeting for them to account for their actions.”
She added that the police have arrested three students and that the Gauteng Education Department will cooperate with the police investigation.
