Drugs found in man’s wallet

Man found with drugs in Rietfontein Road.

A 44-year-old man was recently arrested by the Germiston Flying Squad for possession of drugs.

Officers were on patrol in the area when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked along Rietfontein Road, a known drug hotspot.

“The driver was asked to exit the vehicle so that officers could search him and the vehicle,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

A plastic bag containing a white substance, believed to be drugs, was found in the man’s wallet and he was arrested.

The Primrose SAPS’ acting station commander, Lieut-Col Frans Lepadima thanked the flying squad members for helping to reduce crime in the area.

The man has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
