Man arrested for murder

Alleged murderer arrested in Marathon.

A 32-year-old Marathon informal settlement man was arrested recently for a murder which happened in August.

The murder took place on August 7 at a local tavern.

“It is alleged that the deceased was with the accused at a tavern when an argument started between the two,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“During the argument, the victim was stabbed with a sharp object.”

He was taken to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital, where he later died.

After following several leads, detectives from the Primrose Police Station were able to track down the accused.

He was arrested and has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
