While officers from the Primrose Police Station were recently patrolling Beaconsfield Avenue they witnessed a man being stabbed with a sharp object.

As they stopped, the man’s attacker ran away, leaving the victim wounded.

Officers chased after the fleeing suspect and were able to apprehend him.

They then brought him back to the scene of the crime where the victim claimed the accused had attempted to rob him.

When police searched the suspect, they discovered a bag of dagga in his front pocket, along with the sharp object used to stab the victim.

The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with armed robbery, as well as the possession of dagga.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
